Frequently asked questions
- Can you enlarge an image without losing quality?
- Not entirely. Enlarging invents pixels that were never captured, so some softness is unavoidable. Sharpening is applied afterwards to keep edges as crisp as possible, but starting from the highest-resolution original you have will always give a better result.
- How much can I enlarge an image?
- Up to 4×. Beyond roughly 2× the softness becomes noticeable on detailed photographs, though flat graphics and logos hold up better.
- Why is my enlarged image blurry?
- The original resolution was likely low to begin with. Enlarging cannot recover detail that was never there — it can only estimate what falls between existing pixels.
